What is Live Edge?

“Live Edge” is more than a term—it’s a philosophy. It embraces the natural contours and textures of wood, preserving the original edge of the tree on one or more sides of each piece. This approach eschews the conventional, polished lines typical of mass-produced furniture, inviting the wilderness into your home. Cracks, knots, and the rich tapestry of wood’s inherent color variations are celebrated, not concealed. These elements, often seen as flaws, are elevated to defining features, making every live edge creation a unique testament to the beauty of nature’s imperfections.

Live Edge is a long-established woodworking style. There is no mass production when it comes to live edge. Traditional lumber is cut to fit into standard dimensions and the live edge is discarded.

At One in a Million WORKSHOP, each piece is valued in its natural state.
